dv01 provides multiple ways for users to evaluate performance. Different independent / x-axis include:

Historical

For Historical analysis charts, data is normalized by calendar month. These views can be leveraged to identify trends in seasonality and broader market events that may impact performance behavior at specific points in time.

Deal Age

For Deal Age analysis charts, data is normalized by months since the cut-off date for a given transaction. Similar to Historical Analysis charts, these views can be leveraged to identify certain seasonality and broader market trends at a given point in time.

Months Since First Payment (Loan Age)

For the Loan Age analysis chart, data is normalized by the age since the first payment date. This view can be used to identify trends over the life of a given cohort, normalizing across origination vintages. When using this view, it is important to be mindful of the fact that individual loans can have the same loan age at different points in time (i.e.; a different calendar month).

Months Since Origination Date (MOB)

For the Month Since Origination Date analysis chart, data is normalized by months on the book. This view can be used to identify trends over the life of a given cohort, normalizing across origination vintages. When using this view, it is important to be mindful of the fact that individual loans can have the same month on book age at different points in time (i.e.; a different calendar month).

Months Since Purchase Date (MOB)

For the Month Since Purchase Date analysis chart, data is normalized by months on the book. This is specific to portfolios where the the purchase/settlement date is more relevant.

Month Since Charge-Off Date

For the Months Since Charge-off Date analysis chart, data is normalized by months since charge-off date and particularly helpful when analyzing recoveries.

Month Since Modification End Date

For the Months Since Modification Date analysis chart, data is normalized by months since modification date and particularly helpful when analyzing performance since mod. It is important to note that the modification end date could be different for each loan, so trends should be interpreted in the context of each individual loan’s modification history.

Month Since Foreclosure Date

For the Months Since Foreclosure analysis chart, data is normalized by months since foreclosure date and particularly helpful when analyzing performance since foreclosure. This view provides insight into how long loans have been in this status, which can be useful for understanding trends in foreclosure timelines and comparing loans’ journey through/in the foreclosure process.

Chart Settings

For each of the analysis methods, users can select the performance metrics by which they want to analyze their securitizations:

  • Analyze by (left Y-axis) or Analyze by (left X-axis) - This determines the first dimension of performance metrics for comparison.
  • Strat By - Allows the selection of a secondary performance dimension by which to analyze the data.
  • Chart by - This option adds one more dimension to the analysis and visualizes the performance metric.
  • Vintage Group - cumulative performance metrics often enforce a Vintage Group period.
