In this section, we will be running through how to start a structure with DealStudio. The three ways are:

  1. Create a new structure
  2. Load a previous deal structure from a configuration

Navigation

Whether you want to create a new structure or utilize a prior deal, users can either select Create or Load to access the different options to start their structure.

Create a New Structure

Users will need to define the securitization properties for their structure as they navigate page. Securitization Properties would include:

  • Structure Name - custom name for deal
  • Collateral - Choose between adding Replines, Tape ID or a Dataset

Define the Structure Settings:

  • Settlement Date - when the deal fully closes
  • First Payment Date - first date on payment of the securitization
  • Collection Date - when collection on the collateral begins
  • Distribution and Collection Day - exact date each month for each respective variable
  • Distribution Month Offset - lookback between the collection and distribution month

Add and define Waterfall Components and Priority of Payments can be found HERE

Once the Securitization Properties are filled out, an option to Save will be activated under the Page Actions near the upper right.

Load From a Configuration

When a user loads from a configuration, this will allow them to access the Securitization Properties, Asset Side, Waterfall Components, and the Priority of Payments on the securitization or deal they have built.
